After waiting for my gallbladder to be removed for the last four months and having five out of the seven rights of pure agony. I Found out I was on the NHS urgent list which to my amazement meant that my pain could be dealt within 36 weeks
We had planned to get married on June 14 but due to the excruciating pain in my gallbladder my partner and I decided to spend the money we had saved for the wedding and pay to go private.
I used to BUPA on demand the operation cost £5040 in total
Once we decided to use the service I was seen the same day and the operation happened within a week. The operation was supposed to take between hour and an hour and a half due to the fact that the gallbladder was so inflamed the operation took over 2 and half hours. After the operation the consultant told me that the gallbladder was very angry and was like a ball of cement with the stones slowly going up gallbladder duct.
I understand that the NHS system is under a lot of pressure I do feel that when somebody is in agony for four months and is continually sick and trying to do their best to get on with their life they should be listened to.
I felt that I wasn't being listened to by those who could be help . I went to A&E twice. I was also admitted into hospital by my local GP due to the fact I had a temperature of 39.5. When I went to A&E was told it is probably gallbladder and I was given more painkillers and antibiotics to help get any infection down and I was told to rest up and I was on the "urgent list" something would happen eventually. When I went into hospital I didn't have a bad night so I sent home that morning and amazingly someone was actually sat in the corridor waiting for my bed!
I got to the point where I thought I was imagining the pain and I was just getting in the way of all the professionals that could help me.
Anyway my point is don't give up you can find a way to his sort yourself out and do it I did and I have never felt better
